What is the Internet of Things?
The Internet of Things refers to the real-time collection of any object or process that needs to be monitored, connected, and interacted, and its sound, Various required information such as light, heat, electricity, mechanics, chemistry, biology, and location can be connected through various possible networks to realize the ubiquitous connection between things and things, and between things and people, and realize the intelligence of things and processes Perceive, identify and manage. To put it simply, it can be understood as a medium for information transmission.
02 Origin of Internet of Things
The Internet of Things originated in 1999. Professor Kevin Ashton of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology first proposed the concept of the Internet of Things (Internet of Things). He is also known as the "Father of the Internet of Things".
At first, if hardware such as sensors and relays wanted to work together, a dedicated computing device was needed. A programmable logic controller (PLC) is an electronic device designed for digital operations in industrial environments. , PLC has many advantages such as small size, good reliability, long service life, simple programming, convenient maintenance, etc., which makes it rapidly popularized and applied in the industrial field.
03 Current status of the Internet of Things
After 2000, with the rise of mobile communication technology, device networking has initially become possible. At this time, the main form of the Internet of Things is "+ mobile communication gateway (module)", which is simply automated networking. Later, the communication module became cheaper and cheaper, and the traffic fee became lower and lower. The NB-IoT technology dedicated to the Internet of Things appeared, which gave birth to a new form.
That is: mobile communication gateway (module) + sensor/controller, such as a networked temperature sensor. With the continuous development of technology, the shape of the Internet of Things has also changed greatly.
Common IoT Device Inventory
As the currently widely used IoT controller, there are certain requirements for its casing, so why choose aluminum alloy as the casing of the IoT controller?
04 Characteristics of aluminum
density. The density of aluminum is 2.7g/cm3, which is only 55.2% larger than that of magnesium at 1.74g/cm3, but only 30% of that of copper at 8.96g/cm3, and 34.6% of that of steel at 7.8g/cm3. Therefore, using aluminum to manufacture various equipment and structures can achieve good energy-saving and weight-reducing effects.
Electrical and thermal conductivity. Aluminum has good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reflective properties. The conductivity of aluminum and aluminum alloys is second only to silver. Their electrical conductivity is equivalent to 62%~65% of the international standard annealed copper (IACS), which is about 50% of silver. If the mass is equal, the conductivity of aluminum exceeds that of these two metals.
It has good low temperature performance, and its tensile strength Rm and elongation A both increase correspondingly and evenly with the decrease of temperature.
High corrosion resistance, in the air, aluminum oxide film will be formed on the surface of aluminum and aluminum alloy, with a thickness of 0.005μm~0.015μm. In addition, anodic oxidation, electrophoretic painting or spraying can be used to process and design the surface of aluminum products to design a more unique appearance.
Environmentally friendly materials, the energy consumption of extracting 1 ton of primary aluminum is 213GJ, while the energy consumption of recycling and compounding to produce 1 ton of secondary aluminum is 10.4GJ, the ratio of the energy consumption of the latter to the energy consumption of the former (10.4/213GJ) is 4.88% , less than 5%, and the greenhouse gas emission rate of 715/17000kg is even lower, only 4.21%. Aluminum is therefore a real and veritable green metal.
It can be seen that the choice of aluminum for the enclosure of the IoT controller is a relatively high-quality choice at present. As a one-stop housing solution service provider, YONGUCASE has many products that are suitable for the enclosure of the IoT controller, and it can satisfy customers in many ways. Requirements, such as: IP68 waterproof enclosure The unique waterproof design of the product, the EMI shield enclosure adds a protective frame outside the enclosure to protect the components, if these cannot meet your needs, we also have industrial designers to measure for you body design.
