Recently, a popular topic is amp chassis tuning. It seems that a player has changed its metal shell to be a sound. We are very excited about the dispute. Let's also join in a lively discussion about the difference that various metal shells will bring to HIFI products.
For players with shells of diy amplifier chassis, copper, stainless steel, titanium, zinc alloy and other different metal materials, the shells of HIFI equipment should often withstand various impacts and falls, the dry, wet, cold and warm climate changes, and the corrosion of various liquids should often contact the skin closely. Now, some of the burners have also entrusted the important task of "tuning". If the shell can really play a key role in tuning, there are several contradictions that cannot be explained. First, copper and silver have the best conductivity among metal materials. Is the sound quality of HIFI equipment with copper and silver shells much better than that of products with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium and other metal shells? Assuming that the first question is true, what is more troublesome is that copper and silver materials are easy to be oxidized and rusted when they are often exposed to the external environment, and become poor conductors. Does the sound quality become poor? It is impossible for a HIFI equipment designer not to take these factors into account when designing, so we think that shell tuning is a black technology of some HIFI burners, not intended by the designer.
Although we don't agree with the tube amplifier chassis, it doesn't mean that the material used for the player shell is not important. Different metal materials will lead to many differences in user experience. It's very interesting. Let's talk about several metal materials in detail.
Aluminum ---- favorite of HIFI manufacturers
Portability: best
Aesthetics: best
Processing cost: lowest
Material cost: lowest
Health hazard: Yes
Degree of deformation: highest
Corrosion resistance: low
Copper --- golden texture and color
Stainless steel ------ silver white heavy brick
Titanium ------ inconspicuous fierce angle
